Sharon Dalgleish is an experienced writer, with over 50 published fiction and nonfiction books for children, as well as numerous textbooks and resource books for primary/elementary school teachers. She also writes under the names Katy Collis and Lizzie Kennedy.

Sharon has a Bachelor Arts, Graduate Dip. Librarianship, Graduate Dip. Children’s Literature, Graduate Dip. Education. She has worked as a children’s librarian in public libraries, and as a school librarian. Her passion for children’s literature led her to move into teaching, where she taught Grade 1 to Grade 6 for a number of years. This in turn led her to educational publishing, where she worked as an editor and then publisher. She now works as a freelance writer.

 

Sharon lives in Sydney, Australia, but has worked successfully with international publishers in the US, UK, Singapore and South Korea. She has won The Australian Award for Excellence in Educational Publishing 11 times.

She is a member of SCBWI, the Australian Society of Authors and the Children's Book Council of Australia.
